“stralunato recital_live” totally live, is a work recorded during antonella’s italian concerts from 2003 till 2006. the cd contains 16 tracks, six of which never published before, and runs through, rereads and reinvents the most beautiful italian and international melodies, passing from one period to another, from ne type to another with agility and versatility that only a great interpreter / performer as antonella can bring to stage. the material was recorded in various concerts held in various italian from 2003 till 2006. the repertoire was carefully selected with special regards to the intensity of the interpretation and the harmony created between the musicians and antonella. part of antonella’s repertoire from “vacanze romane” till “echi d’infinito”, pieces which are part of the italian pop music history, are repurposed in an all new key, accompanied by an essential formation composed by mark harris on piano and electric piano, ivan ciccarelli on percussions and to which we add carlo cantini on the violin, davide di gregorio on flutes and sax and carmelo isgarò on bass. tenco, battisti, but also monk and cesaria evora, a recall to the indian sound and to the traditional jewish music for an extraordinary journey among songwriter’s songs, pop music, ethnic and musicals, where antonella’s voice tears down any/every type of divisions, carrying singing and the melody to a pure musical essence. a truly mind boggling recital.
